Mission Statement
The Kearney Area GameFest is the only gaming convention in Central Nebraska. Our goal is to provide a fun and free social event that promotes the positive social, educational, and entertainment aspects of face-to-face gaming.
Kearney Area GameFest is held annually at Kearney High School near the beginning of March. Our emphasis is free, play- whatever- you -want open gaming. Our staff has hundreds of games available for checkout and volunteers will teach you whatever you want to play. Or, bring in your games and play. For those who enjoy the increased competition of a tournament, some vendors are present and will run sanctioned tournaments in games such as Magic: The Gatherng, World of Warcraft CCG, YuGiOh CCG, Chaotic CCG and others. These tournaments will have various entry fees to cover costs of prize support. Other tournaments, such as chess and Settlers of Catan, have small entry fees whose proceeds go to the Kearney High Special Education department. Concessions are available and all proceeds from that go to the Special Education department.
